Askot Sanctuary

Askot Sanctuary
Askot sanctuary is situated in Pithoragrah district of state Utaranchal.Surrounded by the mountain and forest this picturesque greens Askot Sanctuary is a best dwelling place of wild animals.
The sanctuary is a house of many wild animals such leopard,deer,beers,kakars and a great variety of birds .Lying in the lap of Kumaon Himalayas at a height of 5412 ft.,the sanctuary is visited by many Indian and foreign scientists for the research projects.

Kedarnath sanctuary

Stretched about 967 Sq.Kms. the Kesarnath Sanctuary was established in the year 1972 in the one of the most pious region of Garhwal.Surrounded by the breathtakingly spectacular view of snow covered peaks of the great Himalayan mountain range , rivers , glaciers , valleys and forests it is one of the most site seeing scentuary in this region. Because this sanctuary is located in the Kedarnath region it is a famous and most visited natural place by the tourist of different countries for various reason.

A project funded by WWF was undertaken in this sanctuary in between 1978-1980 on the research of Musk deer.

The variety of wildlife in this sanctuary includes Snow Leopard, Snow Cock, Tahr, musk Spotted Deer, Leopard ,Serow and a number of species of birds.

Vally of flowers (National Park)

According to the epics this valley is the place where "Hanumaan" of the Ramayana collected "Sanjeevani Booti"(panacea) to revive Lakshman,the brother of Rama.
The valley of flowers was discovered by Mr.Frank S. Smith , who was an English mountaineer,X'plorer and Botanist, While he was on his expedition to Mount Kamet.The valley of flowers is the "haven on earth" .It is stretched about an area of 87.5 Sq.Kms. with the bustling with beautiful, lively wild flowers in vibrant colours.some of the flowers found in this valley can not be seen any where in the world and it has the largest collection of wild flower of different species in all over the world .

Blessed with the natural beauty this valley looks heavenly by the flowing "Pushpawati" river through it.

Nanda Devi National Park

Nanda Devi National Park was established in the year 1980.The history of this sanctuary says that the British Mountaineers,Mr. Eric Shipton and Mr.Bill Tilman were the first men to reach this sanctuary.
The park is stretched about an area of 630 Sq. Kms. , Just next to the Nanda Devi Peak.It is to be remembered that Nanda Devi peak is the second highest mountain peak,of an altitude of 7816 mts.,in the Indian Himalayan mountain range.
As the Nanda devi peak is a favorite peak among the trekkers and mountaineers the affect of the modern civilization can be seen in this park but still it hasn't lost it's pristine and virginity

Rajaji National Park

Rajaji National Park was established in the year 1996 just next to the Dehradun valley. It is spread over an area of approximately 820 Sq.Kms. Located at a distance of about 250 Kms. the capital of India,the park is famous for the elephant ride.Every year a great number of tourists visit this park to have a close look of wildlife and to experience the unforgettable adventurous ride on the back of the elephant.

Corbett National Park

Stretched over an area of 520 Sq. Kms. in the Nainital District of state Uttaranchal Corbett National Park is India's first and finest park along the banks of the Ramganga river. The park was established on August 8, 1936 in honor of Sir Malcolm Hailey, then Governor of the United Provinces,and it was called as "Hailey National Park" but he name of this park the name was changed to "Ramganga National Park" in the year 1952.

Finally in the year 1957, it was named as "Corbett National Park" in honor and memory of the Legendary Hunter, Naturalist,Author and armature Photographer ,Sir Jim Corbett , who had helped in setting up the park and demarcating its boundaries.

Govind Wildlife Sanctuary Was established in the year 1955 in Uttarkashi district of state Uttaranchal.Surrounded by the natures gifts such as thick forest , snow covered mountain peaks of the Himalaya and glaciers,the sanctuary attracts a great number of tourists every year from all around the world.Because the sanctuary is surrounded by the peaks like Bandarpunch ,Swarg Rohini etc. ,it is a favorite destination of trekkers and mountaineers from all around the world.Animals are often seen here in their natural inhabitants.
